Abstract

The development of fashion in Indonesia makes the fashion activists continue to emerge. Not only as consumers, designers and communities of fashion lovers are mushrooming, especially hijab fashion. Hijab fashion that also develops over time is increasingly loved. Because the hijab is not only a tool to cover the genitals according to Islamic law, but appears as a statement of fashion for a Muslim woman. The design of the Hijab Fashion Center in Bandung adopted the concept of Nusantara Islamic Architecture to present an oasis in the middle of Bandung City. The city of Bandung, which has become the center of Indonesian fashion for the past few years, is certainly a strategic location for conducting retail business in fashion products. Nevertheless, Hijab Fashion Center does not only exist solely for commercial functions, but also wants to be a forum for fashion lovers to learn and discuss. The design of the Hijab Fashion Center, besides having retail area facilities, also has other facilities such as cafes, offices, multipurpose rooms, workshop rooms, and so on. Through this design process, Hijab Fashion Center is produced that can answer the needs of its users, both consumers, fashion designers, fashion lover’s community, to its managers.
