Abstract

COVID-19 pandemic has been hampered the most activities in the community and must been postponed. One of the activities affected by COVID-19 is The School Dental Health Program called Usaha Kesehatan Gigi Sekolah (UKGS). Ideally, UKGS activities which was included by dental health education whose was carried out at least once a month, this activity has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This situation could not be remained too long because of the dental diseases continues to develop during the pandemic period. SDN 207 Cibogo is an elementary school which is very close to the primary health care, but during the pandemic, UKGS activities was stopped, and many students studied at home and other activities were focused on preventing the pandemic matters in the community. The aim of this activity is to maintain the continuity of dental health education during the pandemic. The total of participants were 250 students in this activity. Dental health education has been conducted online for students in first until sixth grades of SDN 207 Cibogo in September-October 2021 through the Zoom Meeting. A total of 52.4% of respondents admitted that they are still brushing teeth before breakfast, 80.4%respondents have done the right thing in brush teeth at night. As many as 91.1% of respondents have brushed their teeth in the right duration. It can be concluded that after conducting online dental health education at SDN 207 Cibogo, Bandung City, there are students who have not been able to absorb information perfectly. This happens because of the limitations of technology that are still occured in many students. It is necessary to consider a combination of face-to-face dental health education even during pandemic so that information can be conveyed better.
