Abstract
This final project entitled “Children Cineplex with Outer Space Concept” is a kids movie theatre interior design. Nowadays, international movie industry develops very quickly, so that a lot of people go to the movies. Indonesian movie theatres play many varies of genre for many different ages. But, a lot of movie usually neglected it, therefore many children can watch films for teenage and adult. This phenomenon causes bad impact for their behavior and psychological development. Located in Blitzmegaplex, Paris van Java Mall, Sukajadi Street, this children cineplex has 3.880 metre square wide. The aim of this project design is in order that all of Indonesian children especially in Bandung can watch films that suitable with their age and necessity that is amused and educated film. So, it can brings good impact for their development. This project is especially desiged for elementary school children between 6 to 12 years old due to their characteristic that is independent and also very fond of going out with friends. Depend to children neccesity, designer chooses Outer Space as the design concept, especially the Solar System where the sun is in the middle of the system surrounded by the planets and other outer space objects. Lobby of this movie theatre uses the sun as the concept because similar to sun, lobby is the center of the human circulation in this movie theatre. The lobby provides all of public facilities such as ticket counter, membership and customer service area, snack corner, gift shop and waiting area. The studio is uniquely designed similar with the characteristic of each planet adopted by each studio in order to all of the children can be independent and have such good experience when they watch film in this movie theatre .
