Abstract
The discourse on painting in Indonesia is also based on the phenomenon of shifting idioms in terms of techniques and materials which are mushrooming in diversity. This allows newness to be opened in the visual creation of paintings. This work was created as a conventional painting sketch, which utilizes digital experimentation through the use of used found materials—in this case a pictorial calendar—as a background for the painting. Its uniqueness is the overlap between the images on the background and the appropriation of “Kanagawa-Hokusai” paintings, as an embodiment of eclecticism.
