Abstract

Antico Coffee & Meeting Point ‘s building, located in Jalan Cilaki no. 9 Bandung, is actually one part of a rowhouse, roof sharing with the neighbours. It was a 1940’s mix colonial – Chinatown style residential house, then later a motorcycle workshop. Came 2017, the renovation project took part on the architectural and interior for the coffee shop, covering an area of 193m2. The main idea is to create a roomy, bright, and comfortable space, out of the alley-like shape building, restoring the original theme ; vintage chinoiserie. The style itself was popular in the 18th century era, which was known for its mixture of Chinese art motifs and European architecture. It revives the warm atmosphere of the Peranakan style. The Café consists of terrace, foyer and bar, three VIP dining rooms and the main dining room, toilet and kitchen.
