Abstract
Along with the development of internet and low-fare airline ticket, tourism industry is also growing. A number of countries that previously did not rely on the tourism industry have turned the industry into a spearhead for their country's revenue, such as Singapore and Malaysia. Indonesia with its cultural diversity, long coastlines and stunning landscapes must continue to maintain its competitive advantage by performing a number of steps. There are eight steps that can be done by society, investors, and local government to excel in the competition.
