Abstract

Competition in business world is getting harder, especially on hotel businesses, situations like this makes every company to be more sensitive for available chances so that it can compete with other company. One thing that a company can do is by giving its best services to the consumers. Basically, service includes important elements from a product which is offered by the company. Therefore, a company must be able to apply a good performance standard to all of its employees, which can optimize the human resources owned, and hopefully the employee’s performances can increase, so company’s goal can be achieved. One of the performance standards applications in hotel business is performance standard application on the front office department, because this department is on the front part of a hotel to market company’s product. This research is aimed to know the role of performance standard application to support employee’s motivation in front office department of Hotel Santika Bandung. To know the role of performance standard application to support employee’s motivation in front office department of Hotel Santika Bandung, so data collecting is executed by doing field study, interview, spreading the questioner, and data processing using simple regression statistic analysis and Spearman’s Rank Correlation. According to the analysis, it can be concluded that there is a constant relation between performance standard and employee’s motivation, and based on determination coefficient calculation that was used, 37% points was collected, which means there is a relation between performance standard and employee’s motivation. And the rest, 63%, is affected by other variables which were not researched.
