Abstract
The floodplains of the river are underlain by alluvial deposits. These deposits form the alluvial aquifer that is the focus of this research. This paper explores the underlying mechanism of river to form and process alluvial channels. The study uses several theories, such as the regime theory, minimum stream power, mathematical modeling of flow in meander bends, stability analysis. Futhermore, this paper proposes a model of the alluvial aquifer movement. Little Missouri is selected as an example of alluvial river form.
