Abstract

The East Nusa Tenggara Regional Museum is a cultural preservation institution that plays a strategic role in education and fosters cultural awareness, particularly among the younger generation. However, the low level of interest among young people in visiting the museum indicates the need for a promotional approach that better aligns with today's audience’s characteristics. This study aims to design effective promotional media for the NTT Regional Museum for the younger generation in Kupang City through a visual communication design approach. The research method used qualitative and quantitative approaches through observation, interviews, and questionnaires with the target audience. The results showed that the archaeological and historical collections were the main attractions, while visual and audiovisual-based digital media were the most popular promotional formats. Based on these findings, a promotional campaign was designed using the AISAS model, incorporating social media, photography, video, and graphic support materials. This research has implications for strengthening museum communication strategies that are more adaptive to younger generations and for developing museum promotional practices grounded in visual communication design.
