Education is a process, method, act of educating, the process of changing the attitude and behavior of a person or group of people in an effort to mature humans through teaching and training. Student involvement in academic and non-academic activities are necessary. School engagement is needed at every level of education including in SMK. Parent involvement and academic self-concept are both important in determining student’s school engagement. However, studies examining the influence of parent involvement and academic self-concept on school engagement together are still limited. This study aims to explore the effect of parent involvement and academic self-concept on school engagement in SMK’s students. 368 participants were recruited using a stratified random sampling technique. Data collection were distributed to SMK’s students in Bandung using online form. Participants were varied between 14 to 19 years old. Each participant completed the questionnaires. All instruments used have good reliability. Multiple linear regression analysis was applied in this study. The result shows the effect of parent involvement and academic self-concept on student school engagement. (F= 271.758; R2=.598; β=.644; p<.05). This finding indicate that academic self-concept is more contributed on school engagement, yet parent involvement is also important to school engagement among SMK’s students.
