Abstract

Frugal living is a wise lifestyle in managing finances and prioritizing life's needs. Frugal living keeps people from being out of control with the offers of shopping centers that offer a fast fashion lifestyle. Currently, the frugal lifestyle commonly referred to as a frugal lifestyle has become an alternative trend that is discussed in various online media for most people, especially young people. A frugal lifestyle is not the same as being stingy, so to form a positive perception that can attract public attention, an impression is needed in the form of a visual design with design elements that suit the frugal lifestyle. This research aims to analyze the visual design appearance of YouTube content that discusses the frugal lifestyle. This research method was carried out by analyzing several case studies regarding the application of visual design to the frugal living lifestyle, to obtain a design guidance framework for creating a positive frugal living impression, so that the frugal living trend becomes an impression that attracts interest and is followed by the public. The novelty of this article is gaining a new understanding of how to produce a visual design that suits the implementation of a frugal lifestyle. The hope is that a solid foundation will be created to help designers design visual designs with effective messages so that they can shape people's positive perceptions and behaviors in this quite complicated post-modern era.
