Abstract
The study was conducted to determine whether there
increase in psychological well-being through self-compassion in
wives who experience domestic violence. Sampling using a purposive
sample method with two subjects. The research method used is
explanatory sequential mixed method, one group pre-test and
post-test design. Quantitative data is based on the results of the
measuring Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale from Ryff (1989) with
validity ranging from 0.385 to 0.992 and reliability 0.971; and Self�Compassion Scale from Neff (2003) with validity ranging from 0.385
to 0.992 and reliability 0.832. Qualitative data is based on the result
of interview. The findings in this study indicate that self-compassion
improves psychological well-being after Mindful Self-Compassion
counseling on wives who experience Domestic Violence. Suggestions
for further research is to consider using Mindful Self-Compassion
counseling to increase Psychological Well-Being.
