Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh profitabilitas dan leverage terhadap tax avoidance yang dapat diukur dengan return on asset dan debt to equity ratio. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah perusahaan manufaktur sektor konsumsi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) selama periode 2014-2016. Sampel dalam peneltian ini diambil dengan menggunakan purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah regresi berganda, dengan tingkat signifikasi 5%. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa profitabilitas perusahaan berpengaruh secara parsial terhadap tax avoidance, leverage perusahaan tidak berpengaruh secara parsial terhadap tax avoidance, serta profitabilitas dan leverage tidak berpengaruh secara simultan terhadap tax avoidance.
