Abstract
Communication can be broadly divided into two, namely written communication and oral communication. Proficiency in communicating gives a great opportunity to a person in establishing relationships and cooperation. In verbal communication, messages or commands can be performed singly or more than one messages. If the message is delivered more than one, then it should be done gradually or sequentially. (Ponijan Liaw, 2008: 3). Communication or conversation is an integral need in human life, but when people asked to speak in public not everyone is willing and skilled to do that. Speaking in public or commonly called public speaking has various delivery types, which are being a resource or a speaker, sermon, representative, master of ceremony (MC) and so forth. Speaking in public is not an easy thing. This is evident from the survey held that 7 out of 10 people feel awkward to speak in public. This research is motivated by the difficulty of finding MCs in various activities and the MC's lack of "skill" of bringing or enabling guided events.
