Abstract
Parents social support is a relation between parents and children which is realized to give the benefit for children's need. The relation means interaction among two or more people who have certain relationship. Parents social support involves parents as a supporter and children as a receiver. Social support realized that the support must be accepted, and be felt by children. Giving benefit means to give the positive effects for the receivers in fulfilling their both material and non material needs. Social support distinguishes between four types of support that can be given by family especially from parents to their children, there are: emotional support, instrumental support, informational support and appraisal support. Hopefully the parent's support can increase the children's achievement motivation academically. Achievement motivation is a motive for achieving success in competition, which covers the aspects of competitive activity, the willingess to compete and win, including the demand to work better. Generally there a four main aspects which differ the level of people's achievement motivation. First, the responsibility. Secondly, considering the moderate risk. Thirdly, giving attention to other's feedback. Lastly, being creative innovative.
