Abstract

The evaluation of pre-retirement period (MPP) activities of Government Employees (PNS) in Bandung City was conducted, and the suggested appropriate module in terms of its capability of transforming positive PNS' attitude towards retirement phase was proposed. For this particular research, samples were taken from a group of PNS inside their MPP. This research is categorized as a Quasi Experimental Research, in which Pre-test and Post-test Method was applied to assess the changes of attitude. Criteria stated by Posavac & Carey (1992) were used as the evaluation method, while questionnaire is chosen as the assessment method to measure the changes of attitude of the samples. Based on the evaluation of the preceding MPP program, it was revealed that the preceding program encountered many deficiencies. Statistical data shows that the new module proposed for MPP program was able to meet the demands of most of the respondents in terms of content and presentation method. In terms of the attitude change, especially the cognitive aspects, it's experiencing positive transformation. Local Government is supposed to carry out trainings on MPP for PNS in Bandung City on regular basis. Continual monitoring and open consultation should be implemented. The outcomes of the training would be somewhat more effective if spouses are involved. The length of this particular training should be extended and finalized with a tour session to entrepreneur sites. The MPP training could also be designed for active PNS in at least 5 year prior to his/her retirement in order to develop the sense of awareness, therefore they could plan their retirement more anticipatively.
