Abstract

Retaining employees who are satisfied and keep them staying as the 'big family' for the long term in the company must be one of the main goals of every company. In fact, companies always face the challenge of external interventions that may indirectly undermine employee behaviors. This study tries to predict the two main causes of high employees’ turnover (which is represented by intention to leave) are low levels of job satisfaction and low levels of organizational commitment. Job is "an everyday food" for the employees and if they are not satisfied of it, then this condition will encourage them to at least look for a job in another field in the same company. If those low levels of job satisfaction are continued to a broader level, where the overall organizational situations are no longer conducive for them; then the next will cause the employee willingness to leave their job at the same company where they work. In this condition, the low levels of organizational commitment of employees have occurred. The surveys have been conducted on middle and low level managerial employees who have been working on several largest banks in Bandung. By using analysis of linier correlation and regression, the studies have proved that job satisfaction was significantly positively related with organizational commitment, job satisfaction was significantly negatively affect intention to leave, and organizational commitment significantly negatively affect intention to leave.
