Abstract
This research was initially comparing the effectiveness and efficiency of supply chain management of contraceptive between private sector and public sector. This study was a combination of two studies, first, in depth review of reseach on the supply chain of contraceptive in private sector in West Java 2015, which specifically examine the supply chain providers of contraceptive in private sector. Second part, in depth review of the literature regarding the supply chain of contraceptive in public sector. This research presented quatitative description from field survey, and naratively from data, information, case study of supply chain management of contraceptive in public sector. Sampling technique in survey research of provider contraceptive on private sector is using purposive and quota sampling in six research sites. The research results demonstrated the strength and weaknesses in the supply chain system of contraceptive in private and public sector. Recommendation research consisted of practical and theoritical advise, first, empowerment of private sector of contraceptive supply chain as it can become a mainstay of KB program. Second, apply the six principles of supply chain planning system (right-number, type, place, time, condition, price/cost). Third, synchronization program between local and central government in order to contraceptive supply more efficient and effective. Fourth, conduct other research more holistic and comprehensive on developing and strengthening of contraceptive supply chain system in Indonesia.
