Abstract
The number of teachers that is suitable for the competency is still very limited in the elementary schools in Nias. They teach several subjects including drawing. This becomes an obstacle when they asses the picture drawn by their student because teachers have not understand the visual language on the pictures that students make. This service for community is focused on the training of teachers and principals to read the pictures of their students so that they are able to give an objective assessment. This service for community is the cooperation between Educational Office of Nias and Nias Regency. The method used in this service is creative experiment. The location of this activity is in Nias Regency, that needs 5 hours by riding motorcycle from Mountain Sitoli. The result of this activity is that the teachers and headmasters are able to understand how students draw their picture.
