Abstract
As part of the culture, art, flourished with the development time and never be separated from matters of everyday human life. So the art was studied in a rational way to art sciences were born. Originally born in the ‘west’, then spread over colonization to almost all over the world, the more complex and specific. One of them is an Anthropology of Art, as ‘branch’ of the disciplines of anthropology in general. Anthropology of Art, reviews art especially of its existing artifacts in a society that is considered have certain patterns that remain. But also discussed about how the production process of art objects by artist occurs, affected aspects and its creation purposes. In looking at the phenomenon of art in a society, between anthropologists and artists have a different interpretation, because they both have different interests and goals. But both artists and anthropologists later admitted that the state of art has its own basic values, goals and interests of their own creation, that between one community and other are vary.
