Abstract
The development of the education system not only observed by the way of a teacher or lecturer teaching to pupils or students, but also can be seen from the delivery, presentation and information services performed by the school or university. Good education must not be separated from the support element of good administration as well. In accordance with (Article 27 of Government Regulation 60 of 1999), that college requires administrative elements in order to facilitate other elements, especially in service to students. Therefore, the development of information technology can be used to help the university's role in the administrative elements. At Maranatha Industrial Engineering Department, administrative elements still use bulletin board as a medium to deliver information to students, including the delivery of information from the lab to the students and of the group of expertise to students. The use of such media is less effective because students are not able to quickly find out the latest information. Therefore this study will discuss the design of an information system that can be accessed anytime and anywhere and have a face-to-face (interface) using the ergonomic approach to Human System Interface Technology (HSIT). This research was conducted by gathering information of the need of an information system that can be used by students. Techniques interviews and questionnaires conducted to get an overview of the requirements. Interview with Head of Department, Secretary of the Department, Faculty, and Staff administration majors conducted in order to get information distribution during the time. Questionnaire with likert scale distributed to the respondents to determine whether the presentation and delivery of information done by Department, Laboratory and Expertise Group has met the expectations or not. The questionnaire was also distributed to the respondents support to get the concept of the design of the prototype. This questionnaire data were processed using descriptive statistics approach. Three Prototype weblogs were made with regard to aspects - aspects of ergonomics is using the Human System Interface Technology (HSIT) approach. The best prototype chosen by spreading questionnaires to respondents, the Industrial Engineering students to ask the best perform on gadgets used by the respondent. The result is a prototype 3 for the Department, a prototype 3 for laboratory and prototype 2 to Group Expertise were the prototype weblog chosen as the best design. The implementation of this new system require training programs and introduction to the admin of the weblog design so there are no errors in its use later.
