Abstract
Machine is a facility that is absolutely needed by manufacturing company in production. By using machines, production can be done efficiently and meets the plans. Machines that continuously used by the company may cause the possibility of damage, thus the machine must be repaired, and replacement or adjustments are needed to ensure the process continuity. In an effort to keep the systems equipment in working order, maintenance activities are required. Three types of maintenance activities at PT. Rajawali Hiyoto are preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance and overhoul maintenance. a. Preventive Maintenance Preventive maintenance is maintenance activities undertaken to prevent the failure that was unexpected and keep facilities in good repair. b. Breakdown maintenance Maintenance activities that occurs after equipment fails and must be repaired. c. Overhaul Maintenance Overhaul that is activity of total maintenance or major maintenance on production machines. Based on research results that have been done by the writer on PT. Rajawali Hiyoto, the total cost of conducting preventive maintenance every six months is Rp 2,109,134, Rp 3,121,635.23 less than the total cost of the current maintenance Rp 5,230,769.23, thus the company would reasonably choose to conduct maintenance every six months.
