Abstract
Divorce is one of the significant incidents in the
growth of a family, because divorce involves the termination towards
one of the sources of affectional bonds formed by the family. Numerous
studies have discovered that parental divorce affects adolescent peer
attachment. The purpose of this study was to comprehend about
the self-esteem improvement program could improve the secure
peer attachment of adolescents with divorced parents at school
X in Bandung. The subjects in this study were 12 teenagers. The
research data was processed with a statistical test to observe the
difference between the pretest and posttest peer attachment data
before and after giving the self-esteem improvement program. Based
on statistical test that conducted in this study, it was found that the
self-esteem improvement program could increase the adolescent’s
secure peer attachment by increasing the dimensions of trust and
communication, along with decreasing the alienation dimension after
the program was implemented.
