Abstract
Ujan Gerimis Aje was inspired by a song with the same title by Benjamin Sueb (1939 - 1995) and was popular in late 60s. This song was chosen, because the artist has concern about recent political and flood problem in Jakarta. The lyric was a humorous limerick, thus made this song is still well known in Indonesia. This watercolour painting depicted scenes of the song lyric. The artist applied parts of this piece into scarves and tote bag pattern, as wearable art.
