Abstract

The main objective ot this research is to identify degrees of ethnic identity status owned by Batakese and Sundanese. The sample consisted of 81 students of Maranatha Christian University – Bandung in Indonesia whose parents had the same ethnics. Phinney’s Ethnic Identity Status Interview are used to get the data. Result showed that Sundanese students had higher percentage on Achieved Ethnic Identity (57.7%) that Batakese students had (38,1%). Whereas Batakese students had higher percentage on Moratorium Ethnic Identity (36.4%) that Sundanese students had (11.5%).
