Abstract
The art in Bali have a close link with the religious, belief and tradition rituals. They can not be separated from one another. They have become a part of Bali community. The handicraft tha have grown in Bali can be categorized into two. The first one is those that have a close connection with religious rituals, and the second is the ones that have a close connection with use materials. Among the handicraft products that this centre has produced is the leather pupper handicraft. This handicraft has a wide-ranging meaning and very monumental. This handicraft has been made to meet three different needs. Initially, it was made to meet the needs of religious rituals. Then, it was made to meet the needs of art performance. And recently, it has been made for trading purpose. Sukawati is one of the famous development centers for this industry. This industrial area has been able to sell this handicraft to both domestic and international market. In addition, one of its sub-areas, Puaya Village, has been successful in combining between the traditional technique and modern colors for this handicraft.
