Abstract

Tuberkulosis (TB) masih merupakan masalah kesehatan dunia, akibat infeksi M. tuberculosis, terutama menjangkiti paru-paru. Pemeriksaan mikroskopik apus sputum pewarnaan Ziehl Neelsen adalah metode yang sesuai untuk identifikasi basil tahan asam (BTA), mudah dilakukan dan dibaca, serta ekonomis. Ada 2 cara interpretasi BTA apus sputum, metode Zig-zag dan sejak tahun 2013 Word Health Organization telah merekomendasikan penggunaan metode Horizontal. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kesesuaian antara hasil interpretasi BTA metode Zig-zag dan metode Horizontal. Penelitian observasional analitik dengan rancangan cross sectional terhadap 30 sediaan apus BTA sputum pewarnaan Ziehl Neelsen penderita TB paru dengan kultur positif, di Balai Laboratorium Kesehatan Jalan Sederhana No. 3-5 Bandung, pada Oktober 2016. Setiap sediaan dibaca dengan metode Zig-zag dan Horizontal oleh 3 orang operator tingkat mahir. Interpretasi BTA apus sputum berdasarkan kriteria International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Diaseases 1998, sebagai negatif, scanty, positif 1, positif 2, dan positif 3. Data dianalisis dengan uji korelasi Spearman, secara komputer dengan SPSS Ver. 22, α = 0,05 dan  0,05. Koefisien korelasi hasil interpretasi BTA antara metode Zig-zag dan Horizontal 0,826, sangat signifikan dengan ρ<0,01. Hasil interpretasi BTA apus sputum metode Zig-zag sesuai dengan Horizontal.
