Abstract
A plane engine is determined by its critical components. Engine is one of the most critical components. THe design of a plan with twin engines and a plane with double engines shall have different reliability. The flight hour could also affect the reliability of the plane. The higher the flight hour the riskier an accident shall take place. Fault tree simulation is an easy tool to map causal relationship between components. The result obtained from a plane with twin engines should have MTTF as many as 50000 flight hours for each of its engines and a plane with double engine should have at least 1000 flight hours for both its engines during 2000 flight hours overhaul period. The amount of flight hour doesn't affect the reliability of engines with high number of MTTF.
