Abstract

The Internet has begun to revolutionize the supply chain. It is usually applied by using cyberspace rather than traditional communication methods to exchange data about orders, inventory levels, sales trends, shipping/receiving time, and item forecasting. It also constructs cost reduction and better customer retailler/supplier community. On the other hand, Internet empowers smaller concerns that could not finance the programming inherent in supporting electronic documents or the services of value-added networks through which the data is transmitted. Thus, in conjunction with the Electronic Data Interchange as an information technology strategy in dealing with electronic commerce, the real focus is the benefits that provide value information. It is clearly important for electronic commerce, because communication is the key to the success of electronic commerce.
