Abstract

Angklung is a traditional music instrument originated from West Java, Indonesia that uses chipper notation for its score. Chipper notation is used because it's easier to read than common notation. A wide range of applications to support the making of common notation are available, but there are only a few tools available that can support the making of chipper notation. Originally, most angklung scores are handwritten. The current tools available that can be used to computerize chipper notation are not suitable enough for the making of an angklung score Therefore, it is needed to develop a new way of making an angklung score so that it will be more effective and efficient. In this research, a web-based application was built to support the making of an angklung score. Web-based was chosen due to its flexibility, simplicity, and availability in many platforms. User only needs to use a browser to run this application. This application supports multi-lines feature and is user-friendly. Moreover, this application is also able to convert the project result into HTML or XML format.
