Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze financial statements of PT. Timah Tbk. relates to making an investment decisions. Financial statements analysis is important to provides information about a clearer pictures that reflects company’s economic reality. And this information may useful to making an investment decisions. This study is using analytical descriptive methods. Financial statements as using in analyze consist of balance sheet, income statements, statements of retained earnings, cash flow statements, and notes of financial statements. Period in this study used is the year 2003-2008. Financial statements analysis consist of accounting analysis and financial analysis. Accounting analysis divided into three business activities, that is operating, investing, and financing. Financial analysis can do with analyze company’s profitabilities, liquidity and solvency risk, and cash flow. It can be done with ratio analysis, tren analysis, common-size analysis, and comparative analysis. The results show company have an increasing in financial position and performance from 2003 until 2008. Increasing in operating performance shall be profitability’s growth. Investments value in 2008 will make more profit in the future. And there isn’t potential significant risk will be in the future.
