Abstract

Marine pollution is an event entry of pollutants such as particles of chemical material, industrial waste, agricultural and residential waste into the sea, which can damage the marine environment. Those dangerous materials have varying effects which can cause direct or indirect impact. Economic developments have spurred industrial growth due to demand of a growing industry, but industrial growth was not accompanied by rules that govern them. Act to specifically cover the new environment was enacted in 2009. Of course it is too late, remembering that the industry has been growing very rapidly. However, measures to reduce marine pollution must still be done in order to reduce marine pollution that has occurred. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the academic world about the practical steps that can be done, especially by the government in order to reduce marine pollution caused by industry. The method used is a normative juridical method that is the method used to find the truth in a legal research conducted by way of deductive reasoning and coherent criterion of truth. The results of this study was to determine the practical steps that can be done by everyone, especially the government to take measures to reduce marine pollution.
